PinChords ("we", "our", "us") is a guitar chord workspace application developed by OfficePort. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our website at pinchords.com.

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your name and email address. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from Google. We do not access any other Google account data.

Workspace Data: We store the chord workspaces, lyrics, progress stats, and custom patterns you create so they are available across your devices.

Technical Data: We may collect your IP address and browser user-agent string for security purposes such as rate limiting login attempts and managing persistent sessions.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the PinChords service. Specifically, we use it to authenticate your account, save and sync your workspace data across devices, protect against unauthorized access, and communicate with you about your account if necessary (such as password resets).

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard bcrypt encryption and are never stored in plain text. Session tokens are cryptographically generated and stored as SHA-256 hashes. We use HTTPS encryption for all data transmission.

4. Third-Party Services

We use Google OAuth for optional sign-in. When you choose to sign in with Google, you are subject to Google's Privacy Policy. We do not share, sell, or rent your personal information to any other third parties.

5. Cookies

We use essential cookies only for session management and the "Keep me signed in" feature. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking cookies, or analytics cookies. The session cookie expires after 24 hours, and the remember-me cookie expires after 30 days.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to access your personal data, correct inaccurate information, delete your account and all associated data, and export your workspace data. To exercise any of these rights, please contact us at the email below.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all your personal data and workspaces are permanently removed from our servers.

8. Children's Privacy

PinChords is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have collected such information, we will delete it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any significant changes by posting the new policy on this page with an updated effective date.
